MISSION OF THE ASSOCIATION
The West Indian Association was established on 16 June 1998 on Okinawa, Japan. The purpose of the organization is to promote West Indian cultures and educate the military family and the Okinawan community through interaction and organizational functions.
The Association is a privately chartered non-profit organization.
It complies with all Department of Defense, Marine Corps, Marine Corps Bases Japan, and Marine Corps Base, Camp Smedley D. Butler Directives pertaining to the operation of independent private organizations.
